Cycling and Cycle Lanes
Cheshire East is perfect for cycling, not too flat, not too
hilly, and some very picturesque countryside along the way.
Within the area we have a number of routes that are part of the
National Cycle Network and numerous other localised routes, many of
which are circular.
Cycling for Health
Experts recommend being
active for 30 minutes a day, five times a week. Cycling improves
strength, stamina and aerobic fitness, with little risk of
over-exertion. It does not pose such a risk to joints as some other
forms of exercise such as jogging. Cycling just 20 miles a week can
reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by 50%, and cycling at 10
miles an hour will burn off 400 calories every hour. So what are
you waiting for?
