East Cheshire Young Persons Drug and Alcohol Service

Operated separately for young people aged 13 years to 18 years who use alcohol and/or drugs regularly.
Method of Referral/Acceptance for both services: Open referral to anyone residing in and under the care of a GP within the Cheshire East area.

East Cheshire Alcohol Service

Services offered: Community Alcohol Team. Assessment and brief interventions. Structured treatment programmes. Relapse prevention. Client focussed education and support groups. Relative support. Telephone advice. Self referrals accepted, and referrals also via GP/other agencies with the agreement of the patient. Services operated throughout Cheshire East localities and at some GP Practices.

Central Cheshire Drug Service

Services Offered: Drop-in service at Winsford and Northwich site, GP liaison, methadone prescribing, specialist prescribing clinic, needle and syringe exchange, counselling, HIV/pregnancy testing, holistic health care advice, alternative therapies, women’s clinic, Drug Treatment and Testing Orders.

Services Offered: Young people in contact with the Cheshire Youth Offending Team can access support and advice from specialist substance misuse workers.

    The National Drugs Helpline is a 24-hour, seven-days a week, free and confidential telephone service that offers advice and information for those who are concerned, or have questions, about drugs. The service is available to anyone.

    Telephone enquiry service for anyone concerned about solvents or volatile substance abuse problems.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous provides information for people affected by alcohol related issues.
  • Rehab Online provides a directory of residential rehabilitation services for adult drug and/or alcohol misusers in England and Wales. 
  • Supporting People aims to enable people with housing related support needs to live independently
