To apply by phone please call: 0300 123 5020 (local rate) to apply. If the badge applicant is over 16 years old please ensure that you have the National Insurance number available as this is required to make an application.

About Your Application

Certain people are automatically entitled to a Blue Badge. These are:

  • People who receive the higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance.
  • People who are registered blind or severely sight impaired.
  • People who receive War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement.
  • People who been awarded a benefit under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and  have been assessed and certified by the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency as having a permanent and substantial disability which causes inability to walk or very considerable difficulty in walking.
  • People with a severe disability in both arms who regularly drive a vehicle but cannot operate or have considerable difficulty in operating all or some types of parking meter.

This Authority is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers, and may use the information you have provided for the prevention and detection of fraud. It may also share this information with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds for these purposes.
