Aiming
High Online Photo Exhibition
This exhibition celebrates and showcases the work of the young
people involved in the Aiming High for Disabled Children short
breaks photographic project.
Short breaks come in a variety of formats and each one can last
from just a few hours to a few days and occasionally longer. They
provide disabled children and young people with enjoyable
experiences away from their primary carers, as well as providing
their carers with a break from their caring responsibilities.
Cheshire East commissioned the international charity PhotoVoice
to run this ‘participatory photographic project’ with four groups
of young people. The aim was to allow them to voice their views on
what they have done and what they would like to do in their spare
time, and to share these messages with decision makers.
PhotoVoice is an award-winning international charity. Their
projects enable those who are traditionally the subjects of
photographs to become their creators. The work presented here
reflects the creativity, imagination and perception of these young
people, who like everyone else, have ideas about what they would
like to do in their spare time.
We have broken the photo gallery down into three pages,
each featuring the work of four young photographers. Please select
a photographer from the list below to view their work.
