Safe Recruitment
“Working Together to Safeguard Children” (2006) lists, under the
policies and procedure function of the Local Safeguarding Children
Board, the Boards responsibilities in developing policies and
procedures to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This
includes recruitment and supervision of people who work with
children. Safe recruitment is central to the safeguarding of
children and young people. All organisations which employ staff or
volunteers to work with children and young people have a duty to
safeguard and promote their welfare. This includes ensuring that
the organisation adopts safe recruitment and selection procedures
which aim to prevent unsuitable persons from gaining access to
children.
Cheshire East Local Safeguarding Children Board, along with
all partner agencies, is committed to ensuring that all adults who
work with or on behalf of children and young people in these
organisations are competent, confident and safe to do so.
This page offers information, links and guidance in relation to
safe recruitment, and will be updated as any new information
