Our Purpose

We are committed to supporting carers. A carer is someone who looks after a relative, friend or neighbour who is ill or has a disability and would not be able to live in the community without their help. The care they provide is unpaid.

• Memorandum of understanding on young carers between Chilren's and Adults' Services (PDF, 770KB).  This sets out a statement of intent, signed by the directors of both Children's and Adults' Services, to protect young carers from excessive and inappropriate caring, providing integrated support for families with care needs to ensure improved outcomes for young carers.
