About Supporting People

Since April 2003 the Supporting People programme in Cheshire has
been funding high quality housing related support services. These
services offer vulnerable adults the opportunity to improve their
quality of life and enable them to live independently. Some
examples of housing related support services include helping
individuals to manage their finances and benefits, ensuring they
have the correct skills to maintain a tenancy, advising on home
improvements and accessing a community service alarm.
In Cheshire East there are 100 housing related support services
funded by Supporting People. These provide support to a range
of different client groups. The needs of local people are
taken into account when planning and developing these services.
Contract monitoring and service reviews also ensure that these
services are high quality, cost-effective and reliable.
