2020-21 Capital Funding - bids for funding from school condition allocation grant.

Applications for the 2020/21 school condition allocation grant closed on 3 July 2020.

The Department for Education (DfE) have, on the 15 April 2020, published the school condition allocation grant for the financial year 2020-21, the allocation reflects the schools moving to a new responsible body, opening or closing.

Further to the schools bulletin article of the 16 March 2020,  due to the impact of COVID-19  the deadline for submission of bids was extended to 3 July 2020 and schools were informed of the outcome of their bids mid-september 2020.

The Bidding round is now closed 

In line with the DfE guidance, to ensure that Schools maintain a Safe, Warm and Dry environment for our pupils to attend, once all bids have been received from eligible establishments, a vetting process will take place to assess all submissions against the categories of allocation.

These categories are:-

  • Poor building condition
  • Health and Safety
  • Building compliance
  • Energy efficiency

Examples of schemes included:

Flat roof replacement - significant deterioration, subject to leaking or severe water penetration and;

Replacement Boiler - subject to persistent breakdown and permanent failure probable

Electrical rewiring - tests confirm major failure probable
