Stoptober, the 28-day stop smoking campaign from Public Health England, is back from 1st October 2017. So far, the Stoptober campaign has driven over 1 million quit attempts and is the biggest mass quit attempt in the country. It is based on research that shows that if you can stop smoking for 28-days, you are five times more likely to stay smoke free for good.

To help people in Cheshire East, the Council arranges services through ‘One You Cheshire East’. This includes access to advisers within community settings as well as specialist services for pregnant women and anyone with mental health issues.  Your adviser will tailor the support around you and be able to talk you through which medications and techniques are currently available to help you quit including the use of vapourisers (electronic cigarettes).

In order to speak to someone at One You Cheshire East about quitting smoking and to get advice – including the use of e-cigarettes – ring your local stop smoking service free on 0800 085 8818, or visit the One You website.

You can view a list of locations where services are provided on the Live Well Cheshire East site.

Stopping smoking is the best thing you can do for your body and your bank balance!  Just think how much better you will feel and imagine what you can do with all the extra money you will have (a 20 a day smoker can save, on average, £3000 per year).

The national Stoptober campaign offers a range of free support to help you including an app, daily emails, Facebook Messenger and lots of encouragement from the Stoptober online community on Facebook.

Those who use stop smoking aids and who get face-to-face support from their local stop smoking service are up to four times more likely to quit successfully so contact ‘One You Cheshire East’ today.
