Rhymetime volunteers needed
We are looking for volunteers to help with our rhymetime for babies and toddlers on a rota basis. Singing ability is not necessary, just enthusiasm and the ability to engage with children and carers. Please ask staff for more details or an application form. You are welcome to sit in on a rhymetime before you commit. These take place on Thursdays at 10.30-11.00am.
Reading Well for young people
The Reading Agency has launched the latest Reading Well collection, which is aimed at supporting young people aged 13-18 years old. The collection has been co-created by a panel of young people, and there is a list of 35 titles that help them to understand and manage their wellbeing and emotional resilience. The titles have been endorsed by mental health experts and the scheme is supported by YoungMinds. The books contain high-quality information, support and advice on a wide range of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and self-harm. They also provide help with difficult life pressures, such as bullying and exams.
Ancestry taster sessions
The cost is £5 for an hour long one to one session. Please contact the library for details and to book a session.
Computer Buddy sessions
Basic computer skills sessions with an IT buddy are now available at the library at £2.00 per hour. This entitles you to an hour's free use of the computers after your tutored session to practice what you have learned. Please contact the library for more details.
