What's new?

Animal Agents summer reading challenge

We have lots of events planned to keep children motivated to complete the challenge over the summer. Children must be accompanied by an adult. These events are free unless otherwise stated. Please book in advance as places are limited:

Animations in Minecraft

On Wednesday 23 August children can create animations using Minecraft. Two sessions to choose from at 10.00-11.00 or 11.30-12.30pm. Suitable for children aged 5 years and over.

Chester Zoo safari rangers

On Wednesday 23 August the Safari Rangers from Chester Zoo will be here with some fascinating artefacts. The first session at 10.30am is suitable for children aged 5-7 years; the second session at 11.30am is suitable for children aged 8-12 years. 

The summer reading challenge award evenings will take place on Thursday 14 September and Tuesday 19 September between 4.00 and 6.30pm.

Nantwich Food Festival 2017

On Friday 1 September we are holding a Family Friday event at 11.00-12.00 noon. Enjoy Gingerbread Man stories, biscuit decorating and face painting. Free, and no need to book in advance.

LEGO club

Join us on Tuesday 12 September at 4.00-5.00pm for LEGO Club. This month's theme is 'on the farm'. Free; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesday

  • French Conversation - 6.00-6.45pm - alternate Tuesdays. All welcome, just drop in. Free, refreshments available
  • LEGO Club - 4.00-5.00pm - monthly. Meets on second Tuesday of each month. Free and open to all primary school age children, accompanied by an adult
  • Under 5s Rhymetime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly. Children must be accompanied by an adult

Wednesday

  • Learn my Way computer course for total beginners - morning sessions, by appointment only. Please contact the library for details and to book

Thursday

  • IT Buddy - 2.00-4.00pm - weekly. Offering internet and word processing help for complete beginners. Please contact the library to book a slot or for more details
  • Itea and Chat - 2.30-4.30pm - alternate Thursdays. Bring your own laptop/tablet/smartphone along for some friendly advice at our drop-in sessions. Free, but donations welcome for refreshments
  • Learn my Way computer course for total beginners - weekly. Morning and afternoon sessions available by appointment only. Please contact the library for details or to book
  • Under 5s Rhymetime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly. Children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Writers Group - 5.00-6.30pm - meets once every four weeks. Please contact the library for further information

Friday

  • Community coffee morning - 9.15am-12.00 noon - weekly. £1.50 for tea/coffee and a biscuit. Community hosts in September include Nantwich Children's Centre, Motherwell, Alzheimer's Society, Jigsaw morning, Cheshire East Shared Lives
  • Under 5s Storytime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

There will be someone from the Cheshire Neighbours credit union on hand on Saturdays between 10.00am and 12.00 noon.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Cheshire East Citizens Advice Bureau now have an office on the first floor of the library. Drop-in sessions are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9.30am and 12.30pm. No appointment necessary. Advice line is 03444 111 444.

Jobcentre Plus

Jobcentre Plus staff will be on site to provide help with digital job search and online claims. Appointments only on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9.00-12.00 noon and 1.00-5.00pm. Please telephone 01270 538 155 to make an appointment.
