What's New?

LEGO club

Our LEGO Club goes back to normal in September starting on Tuesday 26 September at 4.00-5.00pm then Saturday 30 September at 10.00-11.00am. Free, drop-in events.

Get Online Week 2017

We have several free events planned during the week:

  • Monday 2 October at 10.00-12.00 noon, Library iTea and Chat. Discover our e-resources and online services at this drop-in session. Refreshments available
  • Tuesday 3 October at 9.45-10.45am, Learn my Way. Get started with online basics at this introductory session. Please book in advance

Libraries Week 2017

Help us celebrate libraries by coming to one of our free events during the week:

  • Monday 9 October at 2.30-3.00pm, Storytime for preschool children and their parents/carers 
  • Friday 13 October at 10.30-11.30am, Story and Tea for adults. drop in, relax with refreshments and enjoy short readings

Chester Zoo safari rangers

On Monday 23 October the Safari Rangers will be visiting at 2.00-2.50pm. This is a free talk for children aged 5-10 years. Please book as places are limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Holiday Lego club

On Tuesday 24 October we have a special half-term LEGO Club at 4.00-5.00pm. Just drop in and join in the fun.

Our regular LEGO Clubs will be on Tuesday 31 October, with a spooky theme so come in your Halloween costumes.

Monday

  • Storytime for under 5s - 2.30-3.00pm - weekly in term time only. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Tuesday

  • Book Lovers' Group - 5.30-6.30pm - monthly on the third Tuesday of every month. Free; donations welcome. Next date is 17 October on theme of Careers
  • LEGO Club - 4.00pm - monthly on the last Tuesday of every month. Drop-in; no need to book. Next dates are 26 September, 24 October and 31 October
  • Under 5s rhymetime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly in term time only. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Thursday

  • IT Buddy - 2.15pm-3.15pm - weekly. Please contact the library to book a place. £2.00 for one hour

Saturday

  • LEGO Club - 10.00am - monthly on the last Saturday of every month. Next dates are 30 September and 28 October

Hampers of Hope

Hampers of Hope is a charity that provides food hampers to people in crisis, as well as offering other services such as job clubs, budgeting advice, cookery and parenting classes through their Hope Centres. You can find out more about their work on the Hampers of Hope website. If you would like to donate food to the charity, we now have a food donation bin available in the library.

Work club

If you need support getting back into work why not join us at Handforth Library on alternate Thursdays between 10.00am and 12.00 noon? You can access the latest jobs online and search the local papers for work. Advisors can help with CV writing, application forms, and the Universal JobMatch website.
