The Civic Centre car park is short stay Pay and Display. There are other long stay Pay and Display car parks are available nearby in Oak Street and there is also free parking available in Thomas Street (just 5 minutes walk away).

What's New?

Patterncraft

Join us on Thursday 23 February and use a punch card and the magic of Python Code to create a Minecraft Map this half term. Free drop-in workshops between 10.00am and 12.00 noon or 1.00 and 3.00pm. Suitable for children of all ages.

LED animal badges and bracelets

Bring half term to a close on Friday 24 February with this free workshop using E-Textile components to create LED badges and bracelets. Drop in between 10.00am and 12.00 noon or between 1.00 and 3.00pm. Suitable for children of all ages.

First hippo on the moon

To coincide with the performance of 'The First Hippo on the Moon' at the Lyceum Theatre on Sunday 5 March, we are holding a special picture hunt around the library from Monday 20 February until Friday 24 February.

The hunt will feature key characters from the hilarious David Walliams book, and all children are welcome to take part for the chance to win a fabulous prize of a family ticket to see the show and a signed copy of the picture book.

There will also be free colouring and activity sheets on hand, just for fun. Contact the library for further details.

Creative writing group

Join us on Tuesday 21 March at 5.30-6.45pm for our monthly writing group meeting. Members read out their short exercise and receive a crtique from other members. £2.00, including light refreshments.

IT buddies

Buddies are available each weekday for 1:1 basic IT sessions and advice. Get help with your device or learn the basics of getting online. £2.00 per hour or £1.00 per 30 minute session. Booking essential. We can now offer IT sessions in Polish and Indian languages.

Tuesday

  • Creative Writers Group - 5.30-6.45pm - third Tuesday of each month. £2.00 per session, including refreshments. Please contact Angus at the library for further details
  • LEGO Club - 4.00-5.00pm - first Tuesday of the month. Open to school age library members, accompanied by an adult. Free

Wednesday

  • Under 5s storytime - 10.00 -10.30am - weekly stories, songs and rhymes. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Friday

  • Under 5s rhymetime - 11.00-11.30 - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Get free advice and information in the library each Monday between 9.00am and 12.00 noon.

Police Community Support Officer advice desk

Local PCSO, Tracy Burndred, will be in the library every 5th Monday. Just drop in between 10.00 and11.30am to meet her.

Work Club

If you need support getting back into work then why not join us at Crewe Library every Tuesday between 10.00am and 4.00pm? We have experienced careers advisors on hand to help with CV writing, job application forms, and we can help you with the Universal Job Match website. You can access the latest jobs online and search the local papers for work, or find out how to develop your skills with one of our training courses. There's no need to book; just drop in. We even have free tea and coffee available.
