Tourism
Cheshire East has something to offer everyone - from magnificent
scenery and an abundance of superb heritage sites, to stylish shops
and restaurants, great gastropubs and cosy country inns.
You can enjoy:
- the dramatic views, rocky outcrops, peaty rivers, heather clad
moors, dry stone walls, hill villages and stunning walks of
Cheshire’s Peak District.
- the wide, gentle lowlands of the adjacent Cheshire Plain,
characterised by canals and waterways, historic buildings and by
landmarks like the space age Jodrell Bank.
- Cheshire’s Gardens of Distinction, grand historic estates such
as Tatton Park, Arley or Capesthorne and National Trust properties
including Little Moreton Hall, Lyme Park and Quarry Bank Mill.
- historic market towns and pretty rural villages.
- fascinating museums telling the story of our silk, cotton and
salt heritage.
Many great events take place here, including the RHS Show at
Tatton Park, the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival, the Middlewich
Folk and Boat Festival, Arley Horse Trials, The Three Shires
Textile Festival and concerts at the unique music venues at
Gawsworth or Clonter Opera.
