Talented Athlete Support Programme
In partnership with MMU Cheshire Exercise & Sports Science
(MMU), Cheshire East Council Sport and Play Development Team (CEC)
recognise the importance of supporting local talented sports
people.
In
preparation for the forthcoming 2012 Olympics, we are launching a
Talented Athlete Support Programme designed at supporting
individuals who are training and competing in sport at regional,
national and international level. The purpose of this programme is
to assist individual talented performers in their development and
fulfil their potential.
The Talented Athlete Support
Programme aims to draw on the resources and capabilities both CEC
and MMU have available although the programme is very much in its
infancy and the specific support will be confirmed as soon as
possible. However, at this early stage of the programme there is no
direct finance available to individuals.
The programme was formally launched
at a reception at Municipal Buildings by Cheshire East Mayor
Margaret Simon, Councillor Andrew Knowles Cabinet Minister for
Health and Wellbeing and Peter Lee for MMU.
To take part in the Talented Athlete Support Programme, you will
need to complete a registration form. This registration form will
be used to create a database and help identify the specific needs
of individuals who register to establish the programme structure.
