Public Rights of Way
Cheshire East Council is responsible for the management and
maintenance of Public Rights of Way.
This includes maintaining the network and keeping public
footpaths, bridleways, restricted byways and byways open to all
traffic free from obstruction. As the 'surveying authority' it is
responsible for preparing and keeping up to date the legal record
of these paths known as the Definitive Map and Statement.
