The Procession

its way from Cheshire East Council's Pyms Lane Depot, opposite
Bentley Motors.
Entering into Queens Park, the procession will echo the sights
and sounds of more than 100 years ago, when on the afternoon of
July 4 1887, the people of the town celebrated the Dedication of
Queens Park.
On the 'Old' Bandstand
3.35 - 5.00pm - The Crewe Concert Band
The first band to perform on the newly-refurbished beautiful
bandstand is our very own Crewe ensemble. Formerly the Crewe West
End Concert Band, it was formed 25 years ago and during that time
has grown in strength. The musical director is Albert Dunseath,
formerly of Kneller Hall, the Royal Military School of Music. They
now have nearly 40 players who rehearse regularly and put on about
a dozen concerts each year. The band plays a wide range of music,
classic, popular, big band and music from shows and films.

lantern swans, all lit to create a gentle tableau to be viewed by
you - the audience.
9.00pm Finale
Watch in wonder as statues come alive and water spouts from
their fingertips - acting as fountains and producing cascades and
water spurts.
This spectacle will build in intensity and will be accompanied
by music, live singing and lighting that illuminates the water
jets. As the performance reaches its climax on the edge of the
lake, a series of large-scale fire drawings will be ignited
depicting symbols from Crewe's history from engineering town,
railway hub and home of Rolls Royce, to its present day status as a
university town. A spectacular fireworks display will then
continue.
Be prepared to be amazed!
