What's New
National Libraries Day with Qaisra Shahraz
We're celebrating National Libraries Day on
Saturday 4th February with a visit by author Qaisra
Shahraz at 2.00pm. Join us for this very special afternoon
and hear Qaisra Shahraz, award-winning writer, journalist and
playwright, read and discuss the themes and background
to the eclectic and exciting anthology, 'Migration
Stories' - 16 fictional and fictionalised tales about UK migrants
by 16 accomplished writers. Admission is £5.00 and includes
afternoon tea.
Valentine's Active Play Session
Join us on Thursday 16th February for a special active play
event with our friends in Leisure & Play Development. There are
two sessions on the day: at 10.00-11.00am, suitable for 5-8 year
olds and at 11.15-12.00pm, suitable for 2-5 year olds. Tickets cost
£2.00 per child or £5 for a family ticket. Children must be
accompanied by an adult.
Cheshire Fertility Support Group
Conceiving a child can sometimes be a journey with many twists
and turns, so Cheshire Fertility Support Group is holding a series
of meetings in the library in the New Year. If you would like to
meet others going through a similar experience and gain some free
expert advice, please come along to a meeting. At each meeting the
guest speaker will be talking for 20 minutes about how they can
benefit fertility, then there will be drinks and cakes and the
chance to mingle and meet others.

Ancestry Taster Sessions
Ancestry taster sessions offer the chance to learn how to access
the huge amount of information contained on this online resource
that can support Family History research. It can also help you to
understand what else is available online for people with an
interest in local studies or family history. Sessions cost
£5.00. If you are interested in booking an Ancestry taster
session please contact the library.
Computer Courses
We have an IT Buddy who offers 1:1 sessions for those who
do not wish to attend a formal IT course, but who would benefit
from some input to resolve an IT problem or gap in knowledge. The
IT Buddy is here on Tuesday mornings from 10-12 and Thursday
afternoons from 2-4pm. Please contact the library to book a session
or for more information.

- Wilmslow & Alderley Edge Children's Centre. Themed Stay and
Play sessions held every Wednesday during term time at
10.00-11.30am. Free events, but please contact the Children's
Centre to book a place. For details about these sessions call the
Children's Centre on 01625 383095.
- Age UK (formerly Age Concern) Information Desk in the library
on Tuesday and Wednesday at 9.30am - 12.30pm.
- Wilmslow Express reporter on Thursday at 10.00am - 12.00pm.
They will take articles and stories for the weekly
