Valentine's Active Play Session

Join us on Monday 13th February for a special active play event with our friends in the Leisure and Play Development Team. There are two sessions on the day; one at 10.00-11.00am for 5-8 year olds and one at 11.15-12.00pm for 2-5 year olds. Tickets are £2.00 per child or £5.00 for a family ticket. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteering Opportunities

We are looking for volunteers to help with Rhymetime or Reader Development events in the library. We also need WRVS volunteers for the Home Library Service. Monday

• Under 5's rhymetime - 2.30-3.00pm - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Tuesday

• Under 5's rhymetime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.
• Afternoon Story and Tea - 2.00-3.00pm - first of the month. £2.00 payable at the door; no need to book.

Thursday

• Storytime for 2-5 year olds - 11.00-11.30am - weekly. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Macclesfield Writers Group - 2.00-4.00pm - weekly.

Silver Surfers

Silver Surfers sessions are held every three months. These are 1 hour taster sessions for the over 50s. Work at your own pace with an Age UK tutor in the library. Sessions must be booked in advance. Call the library on 01625 374000 for more information.

Yoga Classes

• Pregnancy Yoga on Thursdays at 7.00 - 8.30pm for ladies from 16 weeks of pregnancy. Cost is £7 per one and a half hour session.
• Baby Yoga on Fridays at 1.00-2.00pm. Cost is £7 per one hour session. For babies and postnatal ladies from 6 weeks after birth.

Directions

Macclesfield Library is situated on Jordangate (off the A537 Hibel Road), not far from the Town Hall. Jordangate is at the top of the pedestrianised shopping areas of Mill Street and Chestergate.

Public Transport

The bus and rail station are both just a short walk away from the library.

Parking

The only approach to the library by car is via the Hibel Road end of Jordangate. Macclesfield has a number of public car parks, but the most convenient is Jordangate Multi-Storey Car Park which is at the traffic lights on the corner of Hibel Road and Jordangate. A short stay car park (up to 30 minutes) can be found behind the Town Hall on Brunswick Street.

Disabled Parking

Limited disabled parking can be found at the side of the library, next to the Post Office’s sorting Office, and also just past the library, near the Town Hall.
