What's New at Macclesfield Library?

Adult Learners' Week, 18th -24th May 2013

We have several events planned for the week to celebrate adult learning. All sessions are free, but please register in advance as places are limited for all except the knitting and crochet drop-in event:

• Saturday 18th May at 9.30-12.30pm, Digital Photography with Chris Constable
• Thursday 23rd May at 2.00-4.00pm, learn the basics of knitting and crochet and contribute a square towards our blanket for animals at Windyway Trust. This is a drop-in event, with 'experts' on hand and needles/yarn provided. (Please note change of date for this activity)
• Friday 24th May at 10.00-12.30pm, Bitesize Family History session with staff from Cheshire Archives and Local Studies.

Our regular IT Buddy and Ancestry sessions will be free of charge during Adult Learners Week.

Volunteering Opportunities

We are looking for volunteers to help with Rhymetime or Reader Development events in the library. We also need WRVS volunteers for the Home Library Service. If you are interested in any of these roles please contact the library for further details of the roles and how to apply, or visit our Volunteering page.

Activities at Macclesfield Library

Monday

• Under 5's rhymetime - 2.30-3.00pm - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.  

Tuesday

• Under 5's rhymetime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer.
• Afternoon Story and Tea - 2.00-3.00pm - first of the month. £3.00 payable at the door; no need to book.

Wednesday

• IT Buddy - afternoons - weekly. Please contact the library to book. £2.00 per hour.

Thursday

• IT Buddy - mornings - weekly. Please contact the library to book. £2.00 per hour.

Friday

• IT Buddy - afternoons - weekly. Please contact the library to book. £2.00 per hour.

Macclesfield Writers Group

• The group meets every Thursday at 2.00-4.00pm. For more information contact Sandy Milsom on 01625 573191.

Police Community Support Officer

• The local PCSO is available in the library monthly to give advice and information. Contact the library for details of the next session

Yoga4u Classes

• Pregnancy Yoga on Tuesdays at 11.30-12.30pm. Cost is £5.00 per session.
• Pregnancy Yoga on Tuesdays at 7.00-8.30pm. Cost is £7.50 per session. 
• Baby Yoga on Tuesdays at 10.00-11.00am. Cost is £45 for 6 weeks.
• Baby Yoga on Fridays at 1.00-2.00pm. Cost is £7 per one hour session. For babies and postnatal ladies from 6 weeks after birth.
