What's New
Congleton Customer Service Point
From Monday 22nd March, the Congleton Customer Service Point will
be re-located to Congleton Library. Customers will be able to pay
council tax bills and borrow library items in one convenient
location. Customers Service Point customers will continue to
receive the same level of Council services and information, but
with the benefits of longer opening hours and free Internet
access. There will be trained staff on hand to deal with
enquiries. For more information telephone 0300 123 5500.
Short Story and Tea
Join us on Tuesday 7th September at 2.00pm for a live reading of
one or two short stories with the opportunity for discussion. Light
refreshments included. The stories being read this month are by
Jeffrey Archer. This is a free event and there is no need to book
in advance.
Space Hop Ceremony
On Friday 10th September children who completed this
year's summer reading challenge will receive their medals and
certificates at a special award ceremony in the library at
4.00-5.15pm. Family and friends are welcome and there is no charge
for this event.
Victorian Pharmacy in Congleton
On Wednesday 15th September we are hosting another Pages Ago event
at 7.30pm. Ray Rowe will be presenting an illustrated talk on
behalf of Congleton Museum, to complement the recent BBC TV series
'Victorian Pharmacy'. Tickets cost £2.00 and are available
in advance from the library or Congleton Museum. Free to Friends of
Congleton Museum.
Favourite Books Reading Group
Join us on
Thursday 16th September at 6.30-7.30pm for a light-hearted
discussion about what you have been reading. No heavy literary
criticism involved in this adult reading group. This month's theme
is 'a book with a placename in the title'. There is no charge and
no need to book in advance.

accompanied by a parent or carer.
Afternoon Story and Tea - 2.00-3.00pm - first in the month. Relax
and listen to a short story reading for adults, followed by tea,
biscuits and discussion. Free event; no need to book, just
come along.

Public Transport
Next to Congleton bus
station. Railway station approximately one mile away.
Parking
Free parking on the Congleton
Borough Council car park behind the library (entrance off Market
Street). This car park is open from 9.30am Monday to Fridays and
from 9.00am on Saturdays.
Disabled Parking
Disabled parking is
situated behind Congleton Town Hall Alternative disabled parking
can be found behind the library (access from Market Street), giving
access to the lower ground floor of the library building. Access to
the library is then via the lift.
