Customer Code of Conduct
For health, safety and legal reasons, and to help all our
customers enjoy their visit, a customer or visitor is not permitted
to:
- Smoke in any part of the building
- Tamper with, or remove any first aid or fire fighting
equipment, or otherwise behave in a dangerous or irresponsible
manner
- Enter any unauthorised areas i.e. staff rooms
- Alter or interfere with any equipment, fittings or
fixtures
- Use any equipment for any activity that is not approved by the
Centre Manager
- Take photographs or film, or arrange for the filming or
broadcasting, of any activity or performance
- Use a mobile phone in restricted areas
- Change or store clothing or belongings in undesignated
areas
- Show a lack of consideration and respect to other users and
staff at any time; any acts of aggression or violence will not be
tolerated
All customers must also follow any other onsite rules
regarding the use of the facilities.
Environmental Policy – Version 2 May 2011
Overview
Victoria Community Centre is committed to minimising the
negative environmental impact of our activities. The centre will
also continue to adhere to the Leisure Operations Environmental
Policy by following all the outline objectives.
To help us continue to develop as a centre that is
environmentally aware of the responsibilities we have in
setting the standards in the local community. It is our aim to
ensure that our work has a positive effect on the environment by
adapting and implementing environmental control systems and sharing
good practice at environmental group meetings.
Specific Objectives
Victoria Community Centre will endeavour to:
- Record its gas, electricity and water
consumption monthly over each year. This will be recorded and
compared with previous years, with the target of a 2.5% reduction
in use.
- To recycle as much of its waste as possible
within the correct manner and continue to seek new methods of
recycling.
- To use environmentally friendly products where
possible.
- To use local businesses products and services
where possible. This will help to reduce the centres impact on
carbon production.
- The management will ensure that all staff are
aware of the policy and procedures to prevent further damage to the
local environment.
- Staff will also receive ongoing training to
highlight environmental issues and the role they can play within
their job. Staff will also be encouraged to take part in various
initiatives throughout the year.
- The management of the centre will review its own
performance on an annual basis to see if the centre is improving or
not. This will be done through internal and external audits.
- Encourage staff in good housekeeping methods eg
turning lights and monitors off when not in use.
- To promote environmental initiatives to its
customers and encourage them to follow the procedures.
- Look at ways to try and encourage its staff and
customers to use either public transport and/or bicycle where
possible. Staff will also be encouraged to minimise car
journeys while on shift.
- Appoint an environmental representative for the
centre who will attend leisure department environmental meetings
and report back to the centre any requirements or changes in
procedures
- Work with other departments of the local
authority and external companies that could help in its quest in
reducing its impact on the environment
Environmental Representative
A member of staff will be assigned the role of environmental
representative for the centre. Their role will be to try and
minimise the centre’s impact on the environment. They will also act
as the centres representative at the Leisure Operations Sub Group
and Cheshire East Council Eco Rep group.
Leisure Operations Environmental Group
Victoria Community Centre’s Environmental Representative will
try to attend all Leisure Operations Environmental meetings. If the
Environment Representative can’t attend, then another member of
staff will attend on their behalf.
Staff Information
The management will aim to ensure that all staff at the centre
is aware of the environmental policy. The policy will be displayed
in the staff room and in each members of staff handbook.
Staff will also receive ongoing training on housekeeping and
environmental issues.
Through regular staff and management meetings, the environmental
representative will report back any changes in policy or new
initiatives that the leisure department wish to adapt within our
subdivision.
Customer Information
Victoria Community Centre will aspire to involve our customers
in any initiative or policy that the centre adapts or proposes to
carry out, that will help to reduce its effect on the environment.
This will be achieved by promoting our policies or schemes to the
customers in our centres by displays or signage.
We will also liaise with other departments within the Council
with a responsibility for environmental issues and work alongside
their policies and procedures
