ASA/UKCC Swimming Teacher Qualificationsswimmers

Cheshire East Council runs regular courses leading to Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) teacher qualifications.

The ASA is the English national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water and synchronised swimming and is also the UK's leading provider of swimming teaching and coaching qualifications.

The ASA swimming teaching and coaching programme offers fantastic employment opportunities both within Cheshire East Council and further afield.

Course Information

Cheshire East Council organises the following courses throughout the year:

  • Level 1 Certificate - ASA/UKCC for Teaching Swimming. The first qualification required for teaching swimming and the pre-requisite for the Level 2 (full teacher) qualification.
  • Level 2 Certificate - ASA/UKCC for Teaching Swimming. The industry standard for those wishing to teach aquatics activities.

All of our swimming teacher courses are run by qualified ASA Tutors and Senior Tutors

Other Courses

We also run a range of courses leading to teacher qualifications in other aquatics disciplines including water fitness as well as the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches. Information will be made available here when these courses are operating.

All of our courses are very popular, so prospective candidates are advised to book quickly. All course places are offered strictly on a first-come-first-served basis.
