Torch Parade and Flag Raising Ceremony - London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games

Raising the Olympic flag at CreweAs part of the Crewe Carnival 2008 weekend a Torch Parade and Flag Raising Ceremony took place to commemorate the start of the transfer from Beijing 2008 to London 2012. On Saturday 23rd August the Torch parade was a part of the Crewe Parade.

On Sunday 24th August 2008 the Flag raising ceremony took place on the Municipal Square where the former Mayor of Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council, Councilor Brian Sylvester raised a flag and congratulated local current and potential sporting champions.
