Safety Advisory Group

The Event Safety Advisory Group (ESAG) is the first point of contact for anyone organising an event.

Risk management and safety of the public at an event is the responsibility of the event organiser but experience has shown that early consultation with professionals can significantly increase safety and speed up the planning process.

The Event Safety Advisory Group is made up of the following organisations.

Cheshire East Council departments

Other agencies:

Depending on the nature of the event the group may invite other departments within their own organisation or other representatives, for example an event organiser, location owners, transport operators and security organisations

Registering an event with Safety Advisory Group

All event organisers are required to register their event with the ESAG using the information and completing the form on the Event organisers application page.

The ESAG has been established to promote and support the safe management of outdoor events within the Cheshire East Area.

Other guidance for event organisers

The ESAG will view your plans and offer comments and suggestions to comply with the ‘The Event Safety Guide’. We recommend planning your event in good time - 6 months in advance, longer in the case of large events.
