The Partnership

Cheshire Libraries provide books and other materials for children of all ages from birth through to teenagers.

Public Libraries can provide:

  • Books for children who are learning to read.
  • Stories for older children.
  • Information books for education and leisure.
  • Large print, audio books and other material for children with special needs.
  • Multi media – children can borrow videos and DVDs, hire games, educational CD ROMs and a selection of other computer software.
  • Internet and word processing facilities which can be used for homework or project work.

Children’s Specialists

  • Professional specialists work in partnership with other organisations within and outside the County Council to provide a quality service. To see how they can support you, please contact your local library.

Children’s Activities

  • Class visits and pre-school visits can be arranged.
  • Story times, activities and events such as author visits are often organised in the library.
  • A Summer Reading Challenge is held annually to encourage children to use the library and keep children reading during the summer holidays.

Your local Library offers:

  • A safe, welcoming environment.
  • Help and support when needed.
  • Free access to books and People’s Network computers.
  • Class visits – a chance for pupils and staff to see what is available.
