The Partnership
Cheshire Libraries provide books and other materials for
children of all ages from birth through to teenagers.
Public Libraries can provide:
- Books for children who are learning to read.
- Stories for older children.
- Information books for education and leisure.
- Large print, audio books and other material for children with
special needs.
- Multi media – children can borrow videos and DVDs, hire games,
educational CD ROMs and a selection of other computer
software.
- Internet and word processing facilities which can be used for
homework or project work.
Children’s Specialists
- Professional specialists work in partnership with other
organisations within and outside the County Council to provide a
quality service. To see how they can support you, please contact
your local library.
Children’s Activities
- Class visits and pre-school visits can be arranged.
- Story times, activities and events such as author visits are
often organised in the library.
- A Summer Reading Challenge is held annually to encourage
children to use the library and keep children reading during the
summer holidays.
Your local Library offers:
- A safe, welcoming environment.
- Help and support when needed.
- Free access to books and People’s Network computers.
- Class visits – a chance for pupils and staff to see what is
available.
