Help to replace shared and /or lead water supply pipes

How much is it?

50% of the cost of eligible works, up to a maximum of £250.

What works will it pay for?

The assistance will help with the cost of replacing a shared water supply with a separate supply, or replacing lead supply pipes. Only the supply pipe running from the boundary of your property to the first drinking water tap is eligible. Internal pipes are not eligible for assistance.

Am I eligible to apply?

If you are an owner-occupier, private landlord or a tenant with repairing obligations, you can apply.

Do I have to repay this assistance?

No, it is not repayable. 

Can I apply again?

You won't be able to apply for Water Supply assistance again at the same property, but you may be eligible for some other types of assistance.  

How do I apply?

Download the Water Supply Assistance application form (PDF, 98KB), and Water Supply Assistance information sheet (PDF, 116KB), and complete it and return it to us. You will need to obtain a quote from a contractor, and also apply to United Utilities to connect your supply to the main.
