Swanley Canal, Nantwich - bridge repairs 

We have completed the parapet reconstruction and the road is now open under temporary traffic lights. We will be returning to the site on 11 March 2024 for 4 days under a road closure once we have received delivery of the stones to add these to the parapet wall.

After 15 March 2024, the road will be open without any lights or restrictions.

We occasionally may have to change our works at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions or logistics.

When and what is happening

The road will be closed from 11-15 March 2024, the road will be closed. 

Diversion routes will be in place, and we advise motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to follow the routes. All roadworks, closures and diversions are displayed online on our roadworks map.

There are signed diversions in place for the road closure, and you are advised to follow this. You can find  a breakdown of the full diversion route on one.network.

Pedestrian access will be facilitated where possible and due to the nature of the works, cyclists will be advised to dismount or follow diversion routes in place.

  • Those who are directly impacted by these works have been informed.
  • Emergency vehicles will need to follow diversion routes.
  • The road closures are necessary to protect the safety of both members of the public and our workforce.
  • Local businesses remain open, and access will be facilitated.
  • Delays are expected and motorists should plan journeys accordingly.
