We’re Making a Difference
Streetscape and Bereavement Services are
responsible for keeping the streets and public spaces of Cheshire
East clean, safe and attractive, working to protect and enhance the
local environment. The services provided are visible to all people
who live, work and visit the area although you may not always see
us as we try and cause minimum disruption. Committed to providing
quality services and remembering that the customer always comes
first, we will always treat our customers with respect and in a
friendly manner. The service contributes directly and is
integral in delivering the Councils vision of ‘Working Together to
Improve Community Life’

What Streetscape and Bereavement Services Delivers:
Grounds Maintenance
We maintain and enhance the 174 Play Areas, 85
Sports Pitches, 16 Parks and numerous open, green spaces across
Cheshire East. This work is extremely varied and covers a
broad range of horticultural activities including grass cutting,
planting, sports turf
maintenance and arboriculture works.
Street Cleansing
The cleansing of outside public spaces
including the removal of litter, fly tips, graffiti, and fly
posters. This includes the manual and mechanical cleansing of
over 2,722 km of road and the physical emptying of over 2,000
litter bins and over 600 dog bins.
Markets
We manage the hosting of 13 weekly markets and
a range of speciality markets, our aim being to provide the
right environment and conditions necessary to promote successful
trading within the Borough.
Bereavement
With 2 crematoria, 11 cemeteries and 7
churchyards, we provide and deliver services to the bereaved in an
impartial, sympathetic and effective way.
Public Conveniences
Cheshire East has over 50 public conveniences
available and we aim to ensure that they are clean and equipped for
usage.

Offer
Our aim is to deliver these in an
economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner.
Understanding that our residents have differing needs and
aspirations we aim to provide more accessible and
responsible services, which are tailored to meet the needs of the
local communities we serve.

can these be displayed on the main gates not just the notice boards
inside the cemetery.

What You Can Do To Help Us
Residents are the first to know when
there is a problem, you can help us to keep Cheshire East clean,
safe and well cared for by reporting all Streetscape and
Bereavement Services related matters as soon as you
notice a problem – the contact details are on the back of this
leaflet.
If you are interested in improving your local
area we want to work with you! If we cannot help directly,
our staff will put you in contact with other agencies that may be
able to help.
We can advise you on how to set up a community
action group and carry out a ‘Placecheck audit’. A
‘Placecheck audit’ will help you to find ways to improve your
neighbourhood.
If you ask us to help you, help us by giving
clear and accurate information.
When we have carried out work from your
request, we will send you a questionnaire, please complete this and
return it to us, this will help us to monitor how effective we
are.
Occasionally things will go wrong, but
what do you do if you’re not satisfied with our response?
If you are unhappy with the service provided,
please contact the department responsible in order to allow
them to resolve the situation.
