Street Care and Cleaning
The Council is responsible for keeping the Borough as free from
litter as practicably possible.
This service is delivered by mechanical and manual cleansing
methods. Cleansing frequencies can vary between areas according to
a range of local factors, including pedestrian, traffic and
commercial activity.
We can all help improve the local environment by taking
responsibility for our own litter and disposing of it in the
appropriate manner.
We will:
- Continuously clean town centres
- Clean all adopted roads within the
authority
- Remove accumulations of rubbish from Council
land
- Empty litter bins before they are full
- Help with your locally organised clean-ups
- Remove graffiti from public buildings
- Remove fly posting from public areas
You can help us by:
- Being tidy with your litter and chewing gum
- Using refuse tips
- Having waste collection contracts for your
business
- Not leaving your dog’s mess for others
- Not "fly posting" - it’s untidy and illegal
- Not parking where you want us to clean
- Reporting your concerns to us
