Over Peover Supplementary Planning Document

Following the production of the Over Peover Parish Plan (PDF, 1.9MB), Cheshire East Council has prepared a Supplementary Planning Document for the Parish in partnership with the Parish Working Group. This document is based on the planning issues identified by the community during the production of the Parish Plan.  It supplements a number of policies within the adopted Macclesfield Borough Local Plan (2004) with the intention of relating them more specifically to the Parish of Peover Superior.

Consultation

The Draft Over Peover Supplementary Planning Document (PDF, 1.7MB) was the subject of public consultation for six weeks between Monday 11th January 2010 and Monday 22nd February 2010.

Sustainability Appraisal

The Council is required to carry out a Sustainability Appraisal of the proposals in the Supplementary Planning Document under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, to assess whether the document will contribute towards achieving sustainable development.  The Scoping Report (PDF, 473KB) was previously the subject of public consultation in July and August 2009 and sets out the scope and level of detail that will be set out in the Sustainability Appraisal.

The Draft Sustainability Appraisal (PDF, 740KB) concludes that document will contribute to sustainable development.

Habitats Regulations Assessment

The Council has prepared a Draft Habitats Regulations Screening Report (PDF, 1.6MB) to determine whether further assessment under the Habitats Regulations is required. This screening report concludes that the Over Peover Supplementary Planning Document is unlikely to have significant effects on any European sites for nature conservation, and therefore no further assessment is required under the Habitats Regulations.

Next Steps

Now that the consultation period has ended, all responses received are being considered prior to the publication of the final document.  Once finalised, the Over Peover Supplementary Planning Document will be adopted as a supplement to the Macclesfield Borough Local Plan 2004 and will become a material consideration in the determination of planning applications in the Parish of Peover Superior.  Formal adoption of the document is expected during the autumn of 2010.
