Enforcement of Health and Safety at Work
See the Cheshire East Enforcement Policy for information
about our approach to enforcement.
Cheshire East Council is responsible for the
enforcement of health and safety matters in a range of
non-industrial premises such as:
- shops; offices;
- warehouses;
- restaurants;
- hotels;
- hairdressers;
- cinemas and other places of
entertainment.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is
responsible for other premises such as:
- factories;
- buliding sites;
- farms.
For more detailed information about the types of premises
inspected by the Council and the HSE, visit the HSE Enforcing
Authority page.
The HSE also carries out research into health
and safety issues, provides information and guidance and promotes
training. Further information about the HSE is available from their
website.
