Safer Food Better Business
What is Safer Food Better Business?
Safer Food, Better Business
(
SFBB
)is
an innovative and practical approach to food safety management. It
has been developed by the Food Standards Agency to help small
businesses put in place food safety management procedures and
comply with food hygiene regulations.
There are packs for small catering businesses,
small retail businesses and restaurants and takeaways that serve
different cuisines, such as Chinese or Indian, Pakistani,
Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan cuisines.
The pack is split into two main parts. The
first part covers the 5 main areas of food safety;
- cooking,
- cleaning,
- chilling,
- cross-contamination
- management.
The second part includes a diary for the
business to use on a daily basis.
A DVD guide in 16 different languages has also
been produced to help you use the pack and train your staff on
SFBB
.
Do I Have to Use Safer Food Better Business?
You do not have to use the Safer Food Better Business
system if you prefer to use your own but you must have a suitable
food safety system in place to ensure you are producing safe
food.
