The Schools Forum

The Schools Forum is a statutory body made of up of schools and non-schools members.  Local Authorities are obliged to consult their Schools Forums annually in respect of issues relating to the schools budget, specifically in connection with the following:

  1. arrangements for the education of pupils with special educational needs;
  2. arrangements for the use of pupil referral units and the education of children otherwise than at school;
  3. arrangements for early years provision;
  4. arrangements for insurance;
  5. administrative arrangements for the allocation of central government grants paid to schools via the authority;
  6. arrangements for free school meals.

The Cheshire East Schools Forum constitution (PDF, 52KB), which was revised in November 2011, is available to download.

Forthcoming Meetings

The next meeting of the Schools Forum will take place on 6th March 2012 at 4.15pm at Middlewich High School.

Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings of the Schools Forum as observers.
