Governor Development
Spring Term Training
The training schedule for the spring term 2012
is now available.
Induction Training
Induction Training is offered to all
new governors at the time they receive their welcome pack from the
Local Authority. New Governors will be contacted directly
about dates for induction training so there is no need to complete
a training booking form.
Safer Recruitment Training
Governors may be aware that
from January 2010 the Government is proposing to make it a
statutory requirement that at least one member of every school
recruitment panel has successfully completed approved safer
recruitment training.
Further details of the safer
recruitment training are available here.
Bespoke Training
We are able to arrange training for
individual schools and groups of schools. This is not
currently covered under our SBSA and would therefore attract an
individual charge. Please contact the School
Governance Team for more information if you are interested in
arranging such a session.
Training Liaison Governors
The School Governance Team is seeking
to improve links with Training Liaison Governors. If your
Governing Body does not currently have a Training Liaison Governor
you are encouraged to consider appointing one. If you do so please
ensure that the Team has the individual's contact details.
The termly Training Liaison Governor
Briefing provides an opportunity for Training Liaison
Governors to share good practice and keep up to date with issues
impacting governor training.
The autumn term briefing will take
place on Wednesday 29th February 10-11.45am, at The
Berkeley Primary School, Wistaston, Crewe.
For further information, including a
role description for the role of Training Liaison Governor follow
