Child Employment and Entertainment
There are rules and regulations to safeguard children who have
part time jobs and children who take part in entertainment. The
legislation ensures that a child’s education does not suffer and
the child is not put at risk of harm by taking part in these
activities. The Education Welfare Service has been given the role
of overseeing this legislation within Cheshire East.
The following pages give a brief outline of the legislation and
where appropriate, the necessary application forms. They are set
out in two topics, Employment and Entertainment.
Should you have any queries about the legislation or any other
matters concerning children who are employed or children who take
part in entertainment please contact the Child Employment Officer
at the address below. This office also deals with the approval of
Chaperones (Matrons) who look after children who take part in
entertainment.
