School Admissions
This site provides you with important information
about the process for applying for school places. You are advised
to read this information carefully before making an
application.
Applying for school places
As you may be aware, Cheshire East Council and
Cheshire West and Chester Council replaced Cheshire County Council
with effect from 1 April 2009 following the decision of the
Government to create two new unitary authorities in Cheshire. The
arrangements for Cheshire East Council are set out:
Application for places in any year group made between 1
September 2009 and 31 August 2010 must be directed to your
preferred school in accordance with the current arrangements for
'in year' applications. For advice and information please
contact the Authority.
With effect from 1 September 2010 applications
must be made to your 'home' local authority (i.e. the authority
where you live). This means that if you live in Cheshire East
Borough Council's administrative area, you must apply to this
Council even if you are seeking a place at a school
maintained by another authority. Further information on this new
process will be provided here in May 2010.
