2012-13 Capital Funding Announcement - Bid for Funding

Cheshire East Shools and Settings can now bid for capital funding. Follow the link for further details of the 2012-13 Children and Familes Capital Programme

On the 13th December 2011 the Secretary of State announced details of education funding for 2012-13. The announcement includes the capital funding for maintained schools, Academies, the voluntary aided sector and 16-19 provision. Overall this years allocations for Cheshire East have been reduced by an average of 8% compared to the allocations for 2011/12.

James Review

The Capital Review, launched in July 2010 by the Secretary of State, reported to Ministers on 8 April 2011.  The Review examined how education capital is spent in England looking specifically at the allocation and distribution of capital funds, the design and build process, at removing burdens and maximising value for money.

The DfE have now published a response to the review and opened a consulation period until 11th October 2011, to review the reccommedations of this report. Further details of the consultation can be found on the DfE website under the Sebastian James review of capital funding.
