Further Education
Applications are no longer being accepted for Education Maintenance
Allowance (EMA) in England, however those accepted onto
the scheme for the 2010/11 aceademic year who have recieved a
notice of entitlement will still receive the EMA payment.

Apply online for Higher Education Funding at Direct.gov
(including Disabled Students'
Allowances).
Other Funding Sources

Grants Advisory Service (EGAS) This is part of Family Action
and provides information on non-governmental grants and charitable
trusts.
Sponsorship
UK Sponsorship - search through
thousands of potential sponsorship opportunities.
Career Development Loans
Apply for a
Career Development Loan at Direct.Gov which can be used for
career development or retraining.
Research Councils
UK Research Councils can
sometimes provide funding for postgraduate research.

Search for local Charities and Charitable Trusts including Owen
Jones Educational Foundation, Sir Thomas Moulson Trust, Knutsford

Charitable Trust - A Chester based Charity, providing means tested
financial assistance to students under 25 years of age and born or
permanently resident in the Chester Area.
