Funding

The future of funding provided by the Local Authority for the professional development of the Early Years and Childcare workforce is currently under review. Funding availability for those wanting to enrol or continue on courses which lead to a professional qualification is presently on hold pending the outcome of the review.

Funding for Level 2 or 3 Certificate/Diploma

If any of your staff need the Children and Young People’s Workforce Level 2 or 3 Certificate/Diploma they may be entitled to funding. This is not Local Authority funding but is external funding that has strict criteria attached.

If the following applies to you you then you may be eligible to apply for funding:

• Are  a European Citizen and have a permanent National Insurance number?
• Have a contract of employment and work at least 25 hours per week in an Early Years setting?
• Are over 19 years of age?
• Are not educated to any higher than a Higher National Diploma?
• Are not in full-time education or undertaking any other Government funded or assisted programme?

External agencies decide whether the applicant is eligible for the funding. This funding is for a limited time only.
