Common Assessment
Framework
(
CAF
)
Since 18th October 2011, the
CAF
Team has
formed part of the new First Contact Service. For additional
information please refer to the First Contact Service website
www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/firstcontact.
The Common Assessment Framework
(
CAF
) is a
key component of the Every Child Matters Agenda.
CAF
can be used
by staff across all agencies to assess a child’s needs at the
earliest opportunity and enable them to work together more
effectively to deliver support.
National information regarding CAF
including fact sheets and guides for Managers and Practitioners can
be found on the Department for
Education website.
National eCAF is currently being developed and is in its early
adopter phase in four local authorities in the Midlands.
ContactPoint has been decommissioned and was switched off on the
6th of August 2010.

One Minute Guides
Cheshire East Council, along with its partners in the Children's
Trust and Local Safeguarding Children's Board, offers a range of
services for children, young people and their families and
carers. For more information check out the Children and Families One
Minute Guides. The following one minute guides give a brief
summary of some of the relevant service areas that we are working
on together. These have been put together to help everyone
have a better understanding of what we are doing, why we are doing
it and who is involved.
