Hurdsfield Children's Centre
Hurdsfield Children's Centre is situated next to Hurdsfield
Primary School in Macclesfield. We provide a safe and
welcoming place for children, young people and their families to
find the support they need. Our centre has a range of
professionals including midwives, health visitors, family
support workers and early years workers to engage and work with
families. We run a variety of groups and activities which
include healthy eating, baby yoga and baby massage, dads
group, breast feeding café, active bodies and footy totz and many

Dads, Grandads & Male Carers Group
We have a Dads and Male Carers
Group Flyer (PDF, 990KB), the group is for dads,
grandads and male carers and their children under 6 years
old, older brothers and sisters are welcome too. The group also
meets at Ash Grove Children's Centre on various
dates too.
The play session includes arts and crafts and
indoor and outdoor activities, refreshments are also
available, we meet between 10.00 till 12.00, please see the
above flyer for dates.
Macclesfield Breastfeeding Network
Are you currently Breastfeeding? Would you be
interested in joining
Cherubs Breastfeeding Support Group (PDF, 326KB). The group is
run by Midwives, Health Visitors and Cherubs Breastfeeding
Peer Support Volunteers; mums who have already breastfed or who are
breastfeeding their child and would like to help other mums. The
group meets at the following venues;
- Here at Hurdsfield Children's Centre every
Wednesday between 12.00 and 1.30
- Ash
Grove Children's Centre every Thursday morning between 10.00am
and 11.30am
- Bollington Medical Centre, The
Coach House, every Friday morning between 10.30am and
12.00
Breastfeeding Facts
- Breastfeeding protects the baby from ear infections, asthma,
eczema, chest infections, obesity, gastrointestinal infections,
childhood diabetes and urinary infections.
- Breastfeeding protects the mother from breast cancer, from weak
bones in later life and from ovarian cancer. Also women who
breastfeed get their figures back faster.
