New look for the Cheshire East Council website

Cheshire East Council’s website has undergone a refresh at the start of October 2009, making it easier to access information and find out about the online services available. The new site has been redesigned in a clear, consistent and resident focused way, as the first phase of a major project to provide improved online services to residents.

The refresh is based on our conversations with stakeholders and addresses their priorities including:

• Providing more direct links to information that improves access to our core functions from the home page.
• Introduction of a personalised section entitled ‘Links for…’ which makes it clearer for a specific group of people to find the information key to them.
• Direct home page access to the site structure via new features including a home page directory, ‘Popular Pages’, ‘I Want To’ and ‘Have Your Say’.
• A list of events from the home page so that it’s easy to see what’s going on.
