Meet the Mayoral Team

Cheshire East Mayor, Councillor Margaret Simon with her Consort, husband Maurice.

The Cheshire East Borough Council Mayor, Councillor Margaret Simon, who represents the Rope Ward in Crewe, will be flying the flag for Cheshire East at dozens of events throughout the year with her Consort, husband Maurice. Councillor Simon, prior to having been elected Mayor and Chairman of the Council on 2nd April 2009 had been Chairman of the Cheshire East Shadow Council.

Congleton Town West Councillor, Gordon Baxendale, was also installed on 1st April as Deputy Mayor, supported by his wife Felicity.

Youth Mayor, Chris Edwards together with Cheshire East Mayor, Councillor Margaret Simon.

In a first for the North West, we also have a Youth Mayor, 15 year-old Chris Edwards, from Upton Priory, Macclesfield. Later in the year a Junior Mayor will be selected from primary school pupils across Cheshire East.
