Local Election and national referendum - Thursday 5 May 2011
The election held on the 5th of May 2011 was for:
A national referendum on the
alternative vote system took place on the same
day.
This is the first election using new electoral ward
boundaries for wards in Cheshire East following a review by the Boundary
Committee. There will
be 82 Councillors in the Cheshire East
Council. The number of wards changed from 27 to 52; depending
on population, some wards have one councillor and some wards have 2
or 3 councillors.
Due to the death of a candidate, an election for
Councillors in Crewe South
ward took place on the 16th of
June.
