Council Performance
Cheshire East Council was formed in April 2009, superseding the
authorities of Congleton Borough Council, Crewe and Nantwich
Borough Council, Macclesfield Borough Council and Cheshire County
Council.
Performance Management plays an essential part in helping
Cheshire East Council achieve its strategic goals. In order to
monitor and improve our services, we need to know that what we do
is working, and identify and address any areas for improvement.
Corporate Plan 2009-10
Cheshire East Council’s corporate priorities
are outlined in its Corporate Plan
2009-10, and we will continuously monitor our performance
against the key measures which support our desired outcomes.
To support the Corporate Plan, we have developed a Performance
Management Strategy, built on best practice and designed to focus
on the activities of Directorates, Services and individual
employees in achieving the Council’s priorities and those of its
partners.
By successfully embedding effective
performance management at the heart of what we do, we will help the
Council to aspire to - and achieve - its desired ‘Flagship’
status.
Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA)
Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) is the government's
framework for assessing each council's performance. It
provides an independent assessment of how we serve our communities,
and focuses on how effectively the services we provide deliver
improved outcomes.
CAA supports Cheshire East’s culture of
accountability. Our residents deserve clear and regular
information about how the services we provide are performing, how
our services compare with others, and how effectively we plan to
improve.
Audit Commission
The Audit Commission is an independent watchdog that assess
the performance of local public services throughout the country.
They undertake annual organisational and area assessments of
Cheshire East Council, which help to provide an overview of how we
are performing.
The Audit Commission’s latest assessments of our performance and
delivery of value for money services are available to read on
their
One Place website.
