Information Bulletin - Warning of hazardous driving
conditions
February 9, 2012
Drivers are being warned to take extra care today as freezing
temperatures continue to affect the Cheshire East area.
There are concerns that freezing drizzle could affect driving
conditions this morning and into the afternoon.
Freezing drizzle occurs when rain droplets fall on to frozen
surfaces, causing ice to form immediately. This can even affect
roads which have been gritted.
A warning, issued by the MET Office, is still in place for
Cheshire East. This warns people of continued severe weather
conditions and further risk of ice and snow.
Cheshire East Council monitors weather forecasts, 24 hours a
day, with gritting and snow-ploughing taking place where and when
necessary.
Anyone planning a journey over the coming days is urged to check
the weather and traffic conditions before travelling.
