Service Objectives

• Introduction of legislative changes to birth registrations due to The Welfare Reform Act 2009
• Introduction of legislative changes to death registrations due to The Coroner's and Justice act 2009
• Introduction of the second phase of RON(M) which will enable registrars handwritten marriage registrations to be updated on RON(M)
• Introduction of legislative changes due to The Borders, Immigration and Citizenship Act 2009
• Issuing of duplicate birth, death and marriage certificates using original images captured by electronic scanning of the birth, death and marriage registers
• Undertaking of a fundamental review of opening hours and service delivery access points
