Marriage Fees
Administration Fee
Bookings can be made up to three years before the ceremony
date. A non refundable administration fee of £80 is payable
when the ceremony is booked into our diary. This fee
will be deducted from the final ceremony fee.
Notice of Marriage
Before you can get married, both partners are required legally
to give Notice of Marriage. The Notice of Marriage is valid for 12
months. As our diary is often very busy, it is important that
the Notice of Marriage is given as far in advance as possible.
There is a charge for this of £33.50 each.
Marriage at the Register Office
The fee for a marriage ceremony in the Register Office is
£43.50, which includes the cost of one marriage certificate. This
fee is payable on the day of the ceremony.

These fees include the cost of one marriage certificate.
Fees must be paid to the Superintendent Registrar at least 4
weeks before the ceremony is due to take place.
Extra Marriage Certificates
It is possible to obtain further copies of your marriage
certificate for a fee of £3.50 on the day of the ceremony. However,
once the marriage register is completed and deposited with the
Superintendent Registrar, the fee for a certificate increases to
£9.00.
Payment
You can pay by cash, cheque or credit/debit card. Cheques are
accepted no later than 6 weeks before the date of the ceremony and
should be made payable to Cheshire East Borough Council and sent to
The Register Office, Delamere House, Chester Street, Crewe, CW1
2LL. You can also phone our Ceremonies Office on 01270 375140 to
pay by credit or debit card.
