Equality and Inclusion Welcome
"Inclusion for All"

The Council recognises that promoting equality
and inclusion will improve public services for everyone. Our
aim, therefore, is to make equality an integral part of the way the
Council works by putting it at the centre of everything it
does.
Equality and Inclusion Team what do we do?
The Equality and Inclusion Team is a resource, working with
all service areas to improve access to services and
opportunities.
- We consult with staff; communities, visitors,
business and voluntary/third sectors to ensure their
views are not only heard but form a significant part of service
development and delivery.
- We monitor and assess the council's policies and strategies to
ensure that they do not impact negatively on any particular
group.
- We support managers to provide services across the community by
promoting equality in service delivery and employment
- We recognise peoples' individual qualities irrespective of
status or cultural characteristics
- We offer advice to staff and the general public on equality and
inclusion issues effecting Cheshire East
- We monitor our workforce to make sure all staff are treated
fairly and in accordance with their individual needs.

Action Plan 2010-13 (PDF, 262KB) and a Draft
Equality Impact Assessment Toolkit and Guidance (PDF, 436KB).
The Scheme, Action Plan and Toolkit are all in draft form to
allow us to consult widely with partners, voluntary, faith and
community stakeholders, staff and citizens so that your views can
also be reflected and implemented into current and future service
provision and delivery.
We value your comments so please let us know your thoughts by
completing the questionnaire below and we will consider these
whilst drafting the final Single Equality and Inclusion Scheme. It
is anticipated that this will be published in September 2010.

equality and diversity in all that we do.
