What is a Family Safety Unit?

The Family Safety Unit (PDF, 89KB) provides:

• Services for victims
• Advice and information for agencies dealing with victims of domestic abuse
• Co-ordination of Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs)

Services are provided by a team of specialist workers with the aim of reducing risk and increasing long term safety and wellbeing.

Each unit is staffed by a manager and a team of Independent Domestic Violence Advocates
